Hi, my name is Amanda Deane. My family lives on the Deane farm which is shown on your site. I am only 13 but I wanted to voice my opinion even if it doesn't affect anything. I have read about the plans for mining. It makes me feel horrible because when I go to visit my family in Barboursville, I also go to see the beautiful landscape. There is nothing like going to Barboursville and seeing the beautiful and unharmed land that I am proud to say where my family lives. I can remember when I was a little girl going out and playing on the farm. I loved my trips down there. I would hate to go visit and see an awful mining site there. The land that they are going to mine on is my heritage and I could hardly bear to see it destroyed. I never imagined that something of this magnitude would happen to this historical land. When my Aunt Kay Deane told me that this was being planned I was astonished and I began asking what we could do. I know this may not change a thing, but at least someone heard my opinion. In conclusion, I feel that the mining is wrong and I can't believe that the place I call my home land is in jeopardy.-Amanda Deane
